a charitable body.
How
is Darul Ihsan Orphanage funded?
The Orphanage operates primarily on donations
from members of the public. The Orphanage
receives quarterly grants based on the number
of orphans from the Ministry of Community
Development, Youth and Sports (MCYS).
Who
manages Darul Ihsan Orphanage?
A Management Committee comprising 17 volunteer
members manages Darul Ihsan. The Management
Committee, constituted under the auspices
of the Muslimin Trust Fund Association,
is appointed once in every two years.
What
kind of assistance does Darul Ihsan offer?
Darul Ihsan operates two orphanages, Darul
Ihsan Lilbanin (for boys) and Darul Ihsan
Lilbanat (for girls) to house school going
orphans. It also runs an educational financial
aid scheme where orphans not staying at
the orphanage receive monthly financial
assistance.
As at June 2008, there are 621 non-resident
orphans out of 329 families. The recipients
include students from government schools,
technical institutes, polytechnics, universities
and full-time madrasahs.

and 21 boys residing in the two orphanages
